Thanks for the Memories

Last weekend we got some terrible news that one of TJ's good friends from high school passed away. Friday was Cameron's funeral. It was the first funeral of a close friend that has passed and it was hard on both of us. They are still unsure of why he died. I only got to know Cameron our senior year in high school, but he and TJ became fast friends working together and paticipating in FAA. You knew if Cameron was going to be there you were sure to have fun. He loved life and always knew how to have fun. Although TJ and Cameron kinda lost touch after we graduated, TJ was looking forward to seeing him at our 10 year high school reunion this Oct. Cameron is  the 6th classmate we have lost in 10 years.

The funeral was standing room only. One thing the pastor said that stuck with me was "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That is why they call it the PRESENT". I thought about how true that statement is and how I sometimes get caught up in worrying about our future and silly things, when we aren't guaranteed tomorrow.

TJ and his brother talked about all the great times they had together with Cameron. It was fun to hear all their crazy stories. We are saddened that Cameron is gone, but look forward to seeing him again when we get to heaven. Thanks for the memories Cameron!

Please pray for comfort for his family and friends in the unexpecting passing, and for his 21 month old daughter that she will know who her father was and that he loved her very much.

  1. This was a sad situation! I hated to hear of his passing. It's hard to believe we've lost 6 classmates. I hurt for all of their families! Thanks for sharing this Kristina.

  2. Glad you two were about to make it to the funeral. I didn't know Cameron very well, but it was sad to hear the news. His daughter is the exact same age as Grant. Please let me know when you hear what happened.
