July 4th Weekend

Since TJ had to work most of July 4th weekend, (in order to meet a deadline) we didn't have big plans for the weekend. While he was hard at work Saturday afternoon, I decided to relax by the pool with a good book. I'm almost finished with my book and I'm on the hunt for my next read....Any suggestions?
Later that evening we met up with our friends Sue and Chad to try a new hamburger joint down town. Their burgers were good, but they don't hold a candle to Dutch's. TJ tried to talk me in to ordering their sweet potato fries, but I didn't think it sounded good....Sweet french fries with cinnimon and surger?? I finally gave in and was going to try one but he had already eaten them all. Oh well maybe next time!

After dinner we decided to check out the big firework show the city puts on after the baseball game. I think everyone else had the same idea, there were people everywhere!! The fireworks display was suppose to go off around 9:30 but since the game went to the 13th inning it got delayed. After we waited 3 hours and still no end in sight to the game, we decided to go to Sonic for some ice cream. Sue and Chad decided to call it a night (it was 11:45 and still no fire works), but TJ and I went to the roof of his office building and watched the display which went off around 11:50. It was a really long night, but it was great to catch up with our friends since we hadn't seen them in a month!!

Great Friends!!

Waiting for the fireworks

This Sunday our church started the series "At the Movies". They show a movie complete with cokes, popcorn and candy. During the movie the Ed Young relates it to the Christian walk and salvation. He is an AMAZING speaker!! I wish everyone could hear him speak, you will look at everything a little different. You can check it out here: http://www.fellowshipchurch.com/atthemovies

Sunday Morning

And last but not least, our baby Dixie has had a rough week. So when I was a Target today, I always go through the $1.00 section, (although everything isn't a dollar anymore) they had dog toys for a dollar and then they were 30% off. Dixie tears up her toys in a matter of minutes, so I hate to pay very much for them. So I got her a summery drink toy, which she got out of the shopping bag herself....little stinker. I don't know how she knows what is hers in the bags.

Waiting for me to throw her new toy

Thanks to all the service men and women that make this country so great!! God Bless America!!!! Have a great week!

  1. I love Dixie and her toy...that is hillarious! My Mom's weenie dog does the same thing - getting her own stuff out of the bag.
